Dog lover Gary Laliberte recalls what it was like when he first spotted the need for a pet supply store in Downtown four years ago. There wasn't a store for the "average joe" dog owner. Fast forward some years later and he not only has a great store full of doggie goodies and toys, he's also added a self serve bathing area. Designed and constructed by Gary, himself, this four tub self serve station allows you to bring your dog in for a wash, using the best shampoos. There are many levels and scents to choose from and a drying station.
Other in house services are pet grooming, hair cuts, and even peticures add Doggie DNA Testing,
Delivery for the Downtown area and ongoing community events sponsored by this civic minded animal lover This is a state of the art dog wash unlike anyother in San Diego.
City Dog was the only sponsor for the first annual Animal Blessing and Adopt-a-thon and continues to support Kindred spirit Animal Ministry in the work they do in being available for those who have animals in transition, the celebration of life for those who have made their transition and all their endeavors to raise the consciousness around the human animal bond and the importance of good care for our furry friends.
If that isn't enough, City Dog hosts a Wednesday night Happy Hour for you and your pet at the San Diego Wine & Culinary Institute. There, Gary offers a free raffle for a cool gift bag filled with treats and other goodies. It's a great way to enjoy a doggy social hour with happy hour wine prices
Behind the counter at City Dog is a cool architectural divider with large paw imprints, allowing you to peek into the bathing stations. Along the walls are dog paintings and photos, some for sale. Pretty impressive considering what the place looked like when they first started. When you drop by, you will even meet Bib the Labrador mix and honorary store manager. All in all, City Dog is a fun place for pups and people. It smells great, the employees are happy, the customers are grateful and it's a lot of fun  City Dog endeavors to purchase its products MADE IN THE USA as much as possible.  Lets's all support this amazingly conscious business owner.

Native San Diegan Kelly Ozaki discovered her love of jewelry design through her association with the theater. She took on set, costume and jewelry design projects as part of her college studies.

Friends and family delighted in her jewelry creations, but it wasn’t until a shop-owner friend sold them to people that Kelly realized she’d found her niche. She formed Lotus9 (commemorating the beautiful lotus flower and her birth on the 9th day of the 9th month at 9 a.m.) and now focuses on creating beautiful jewelry designs for clients from wood, shell, semi-precious stones, silver, and gold.

Kelly serves on the Board of San Diego Youth & Community Outreach, and as part of her commitment to the organization, regularly teaches jewelry making to kids.
